Quick Afghan Hound Dog Information
Height & Weight (male dog): 68-73 cm & 58-64 lbs. Height & Weight (female dog): 65-70 cm; & 56-63 lbs. Temperament: Affectionate, sweet, and loyal. These dogs can be somewhat sensitive and appear to be aloof. They need a lot of attention otherwise they are prone to pining. Better suited to people who have older children. They can also be difficult to housebreak. Energy levels: Relatively active, and they prefer being outdoors. Exercise: They need a minimum of about 30-40 minutes of energetic exercise which can be in the form of a good gallop. Grooming: Should be bathed regularly about once a week. Brushing should be accomplished only after bathing the dog, as brushing a dry coat can lead to damage. These dogs can also be show dogs, in which case the grooming needs will be more extensive.
