My dog is sick, do dogs get "colds"? any ppl with Vet training in here ? He yelps when I pick him up by the back legs and the upper chest, tender in the upper chest and neck area, and he can t walk as far as usual. Cant jump up onto couch. A few days ago he was shivering a lot. I mixed in garlic powder with his food the last 2 days and he seems to be a bit better.
He is 7 and a small dog. He is eating and drinking but his appetite is not as much as usual. Any ideas what wrong, how to treat him ?
the vet in our area is open 2 days a week with no emergency number. the closest other vet is 120 miles, and no transport to there.
So, please no comments like "take him to the vet"..if I could I would !
no, garlic in small amounts is NOT toxic to dogs.
yes a vet emergency number that asks to leave a message, with no response cause he is on holidays, great.
My treatment:
Only take him out to pee and poo. He will stay inside for a few days, and if its cold outside I'll put on a jacket for him. No more long physical activity. continue with small amounts of garlic. lots of petting and softly rubbing of ears. a few body massages though out the day. If hes still being a baby take him to the vet on wens.
yep garlic to the dog. if you have any proof that it is bad for the dog then let me know the link. its not like chocolate.
hes not in constant pain. |
