Do you own an Abyssinian cat, and if so, what tips can you give me?

I am thinking of getting a half breed Abyssinian kitten (12 weeks old). There is not a huge amount of info on the web, and most websites just say they are active, sociable cats. I'd like to have some more info from people that actually own them - how active are they, and can they entertain themselves for 8-9 hours a day (when I'm at work), or would it be best to get two. Are they noisy or demanding cats?

Basically any hands on experience or info you can share with me will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Maky,
I own an abby, his name is Billy. They are lovely cats, so affectionate. The only problem is they hunt all the time. Each day Billy is bringing home mice, birds and many frogs. Think carefully before you get one. They can be very tireless at their hunting.
