Why are canaries yellow birds?

 Why are canaries yellow birds? Why are canaries yellow in color? and why are they sought after so much? In areas where people just love their color? Why do people cage canaries? I think it is bad luck? what do you think ?      |

| huh? is this for real? theyre yellow cuz of centuries of diff breeding practices; theyre sought after usually as males for their song or a specific breed for that breeds' unique feature; theyre caged cuz theyre domesticated pets and would def not survive in the wild and would hurt themselves outside of one usually (theyre not the smartest species on the scale) |
