Sisters

I recently received 2 1.5 year sisters that were with their mother at a
local rescue shelter. These cats were kept in one room most of the time.
Now they have a full house to explore. The problem is that I got both of
them because I was told they were attached to each other. So far 1 is
very dominant over the other. The dominant one hisses and swats at her
smaller sister everytime they come close. The smaller one is now affraid
of the dominant sister.
The smaller one is very affectionate with us and the dominant one will
barely let us pet her without a hisss and a swat.
I called the person that gave them to us and she asked us to give them about
1 month(i has been just over 1 week so far) Does this sound like
something that will heal with a little time??? - there is ample food/
water and litter so she shouldnt be worried about competing for anything.

it takes time for the hierarchy to work out plus you just got them they
are stressed out and it take time
