| ...food in the water? I just set up my 4 firebelly newts in a 55 gallon aquarium with about 2/3 water and 1/3 land. They used to only have a little island to climb up on, and they spent most of the time in the water crawling along the bottom and swimming around. But now that they have a large land area with plants and big flat rocks, they tend to spend what seems like days hiding under moss and rocks on the land. I feed them bloodworms and reptomin sticks in the water, and they used to gobble them up within minutes. But now I wonder if they ever venture into the water long enough to eat. The food seems to be disappearing eventually, but that could be just from my cory cats and plecos nibbling on it. Will they go find the food in the water if they are hungry?? |
