Default Chinchilla drinking water?

I have a chinchillas that we just bought and she is about two months old. She is very active but doesn't seem to be drinking her water. Is this something to be concerned about?

Do not use a bowl. Use only a water bottle. If she was using a water bottle with mom, she will know how it works, just have to tap the ball in the tube often, showing her where the water is at for drinking.
Often, they will drink at night, after eating. Do NOT be tempted to feed her treats. DO NOT FEED HER SALTED SUNFLOWER SEEDS, Please!

Did the person or place where you obtained this animals offer you a water supply to transition her new home, along with an existing food supply?
THis is something that should always go home with any chin, unless you are on the exact same water supply as the breeder, but then food should be supplied for the first week or 2.....

Two months old is very, very young for a chinchilla to be on their own as a pet. While she maybe weaned, it is a very stressful time and she needs to be around other (adult) chinchillas until at least 3 months old, and is some cases older does not hurt!
DO NOT pump her up on treats, only offer regular chin pellets and hay for now. Chins should not be given treats until they reach 6 months old, as they will fill up on snacks and not eat the essentials.
Do you have any idea what her weight is at now? The chin should be well over 300 grams and 3 months old to go out to a new home.
Be very careful, and watch to see what her poop looks like. If it stays dark and firm, this is good, but if it becomes green and loose, or mushy, you need to react quickly.
If you have other questions, please email me... I would like to help more if I can.
