When is it ok for me to let my cockatiel out of it's cage?

 When is it ok for me to let my cockatiel out of it's cage? I got my bird Sat. night, is it ok for me to let him out of his cage yet? Will he attack me? Bite me? Should I just let him in a small room first? How do I get him to like me?      |

| Yes, a small room is best. Don't get freaked if he bites you. He is scared and is only trying to defend himself. If you get him out of the cage, hold him in a dry wash cloth so he can't bite, talk softly, hold him agaisnt your chest. Spend a lot of time with him. You should have his wings clipped so he can't get scared and fly around and hit something and get hurt. Have fun with him...they are very sweet birds. |
