I jsut got my cockatiel 2 weeks ago, and he is still biting, what do i do? I just got my cocaktiel 2 weeks ago, and he is biting and squacking at us still. We have gotten books that tell us to talk to him in the cage (which we do) and put our hand on a perch and act like it is part of the cage so he eventually accepts it, but my hand falls asleep before I can do this, and he never budges. He only comes out of his cage if we are out "of sight. When he comes out, occassionally when we say "Up" he comes to our hand or finger, but mostly, he will onyl do it if forced (which we dont do). He sqwaks at us when we try to hold him almost every time. I just dont know how to train him where we can pet him, hold him, without him screaming or biting at us. I know u cant have sudden movement with your finger when trying this, but we dont know what else to do Also, we try to give him treats when he is out of his cage, but he doesnt seem them or eat them. One more thing, whats a good fruit or food besides the normal seeds and pellets that I can have in his cage at all times |
