Default Why does it mean "DOGS" when you refer to "Pets"?

Whenever I hear of pet-related issues, they're ALWAYS referring to DOGS(and ONLY dogs!)!!!...

Why is that?...

I believe that's socially unfair to us cat lovers worldwide...
