Why don't humans eat "dog food" ?

 Why don't humans eat "dog food" ? Animals have specially formulated food that provides a balanced diet, and all at once. Why don't we have this sort of kibble-type food for humans? It would seemingly help out with relief efforts for natural disasters, or even just in ensuring proper childhood nutrition. (Note: I don't mean actual dog food - I'm using the term to attract more potential answers... and on the flipside of that, not that I want to discourage answers, but don't bother answering if you're just going to say "taste")      |
