Is my fish sleeping as its dying?

 Is my fish sleeping as its dying? I think my eel tailed cat fish is dying. It has not been well for some time. Today it was just lying on the bottom of the tank not moving. I have put it a bucket of tank water so it can die in peace away from the other fish. It is still lying at the bottom gills still moving. Is it sleeping? If so my guess is it's not in pain so no need to euthinize. Should I just leave it?      |
