Default How can I keep my Rottweiler from being a violent dog?

My Rottweiler, about 4 months old I guess, nothing is wrong with her now, but I am afraid about when she gets older she could turn out to be a horrible violent dog. I love my Dobey. At times she can annoying and jumpy, but I love her. I play with her at least once or twice a day from Monday to Thursday. Friday I just feed her because I don't have the time to play, and on the weekends I am usually out, but when I am not busy I give her as much as attention as I can, but I'm afraid. What if I'm not giving her enough attention? She will turn into a violent dog, and I don't want her to be a bad dog. I read a story and it said that 2 rottweilers killed a baby girl. That's when I started thinking..what if my precious Dobey was a killer? Is this how all rottweilers turn out to be? Evil killers? Am I giving her enough attention? Please somebody tell me if I'm doing enough..or if I need to do more. I just don't want my baby to turn into a horrible moster.

Take your dog to dog parks and out to people areas. On the days you dont have time to play with the dog, ask other people to socialize with it. Like your family and friends.

I love Rotts and Dobs, but if you find your Rottie violent you can take her too your vet and they can put her on special pills that help with violence and that help them relax.

have you read the "good dog carl" books by alexandra day. they are children's books about a rottweiler that "baby sits" a toddler the books are about the adventures that the dog and toddler have. they are wonderful. i think you would enjoy reading them and they might put your mind at ease about your dog.
the way a dog turns out largely depends on its owner and how the dog is treated. when you hear about dogs "turning bad" they are usually dogs that aren't treated right (they have owners that chain them up outside or owners that abuse the dog in other ways). i don't think that you have anything to worry about with your dog. i had a rottweiler and a doberman both great wonderful dogs.

Simply put, by socializing it with many different situations and animals and by never letting it be anything other than submissive towards people. You don't have to encourage Rottweilers to be good watch dogs or guard dogs. They will do it on their own. The more you encourage aggressive behavior, the more "violent" of a Rottweiler you may end up with.
