how do i train a rottweiler puppy to stop biting?

my puppy is 9 weeks old and every time we go to pet her she lets us but she starts to bite and nip at us. she's small now so it's fine but, i don't want her to do it when she gets full grown.

She is probably playing right now, but the best way to stop her from doing it is to use a loud sound like AH AH! and stop touching her till she settles down. This shows her that mouthing is not appreciated, and results in her not getting attention.

The puppy sees your hand like a toy. For now, do not use any force to correct the puppy. This is a very common mistake that makes irreversible damage towards a young pup.

What I like to do is transfer this prey drive towards something more appropiate such as a ball on a string. Later on, you can use this ball as a training device. As sometimes, adult rotties lack food drive to be motivated enough with treats.

So next time she starts biting you, say in a firm voice "NO! You will not do that!", you can also slam a rolled up magazine against a wall to startle her. Immediately afterwards show the toy.

Rottweiler/Japanese Spiz mix. There is no "official name" for mixed breed dogs.

All good advice you have received. I can add that you should never allow a dog, Rottweiler or not, to have anyone's hand in their mouth. Hands, or any other human body part, are totally off limits. The younger they learn that, the better.
