Default Could switching my shih tzu puppies food from Purina puppy chow, to Beneful

Healthy Growth For Puppies be ok? I have a 9 month old shih tzu and he was on Purina Puppy Chow. He was doing just fine. But he seemed not as interested in it anymore, so I switched his food to Beneful Healthy Growth for Puppies. It seems like since I did that, he is itching really bad and he had red, scabby blotches everywhere. Please be serious when answering this. If you don't really know, then please don't answer. I need the opinion of a Vet. or someone who has had this problem, as well. Thank you.

The foods you mentioned are not good foods. Find a food that has no by-product, wheat or whole ground corn in the first 5 ingredients. Vets do not know very much about dog foods because they don't study dog foods in veterinarian schools. Many vets sell Science Diet and will recommend that you feed your dog what they sell. If you read the ingredients, you will see that they are not what you should be feeding your dog. From what you describe, your dog could have an allergy. You may want to try a dog food that has venison, duck or lamb as the protein source. Also look for high levels of Omega 6 and Omega 3.
