Help with housetraining my 8week old shih tzu puppy?

We just got him yesterday and hes had a few accidents inside the house, so we're immeadietly starting with housetraining.
Hes been okay at the moment, hes been to the toilet outside a few times, and hes only weed a bit inside, but that was only because he was excited about seeing my dad.
Any tips on how to easily housebreak him?
We have a crate thing, but he cries and cries and hates it. Hes getting used to the paper method.

Take him out every few hours. When he goes where he is supposed to go, praise him and let him know he's done well. When he goes where he is not supposed to go, give him a stern but calm "no" and take him where you want him to go. The crate training will help. Pups will complain about being locked in a crate. The secret is to not give in. Nice name, by the way.
