How do I get My Siberian Husky to sleep at night?

I just recently adopted a Siberian Husky. He's around 4 years old. I usually try to take him for a good jog in the morning and then one at night as well as playing with him some in the evening. I have two other smaller dogs that he interacts with and they seem to get along fine. However at night he'll lay down for an hour or two and then stays up the rest of the night. If I leave him out in the house he stays up and disturbs my family if I keep him in my room to sleep he keeps me up all night. Is there anything i can do to help him sleep through the night? Do I need to get a crate and have him start staying in there at night?

I would try a crate.... My Westie used to be they same way, if he was allowed to wonder around the house all night, he would! I got a crate for him to sleep in and the first couple nights he was restless but when he would wake up I would put my hand down by the crate so he could smell that I was still there and I would just tell him "shhh".... after a couple nights he was fine and sleeps through the night now. Now I don't even need to crate him at night, he is on his sleeping schedule and doesn't roam the house all night anymore!

Taking him out for a run at night won't make him tired. Ever heard how we are not supposed to exercise 2-3 hours before going to bed? Same with animals. It will just wake him up more and get him going. Try doing one in the morning and one at around 3 or 4.

Taking him out for a run at night WILL make him tired. Animals are not the same as humans. The best thing you could do is make sure he gets enough exercise. A crate is essential for creating a calm sleeping environment. If he has never been crated, it will take some time to get him used to it but once he gets the hang of it, you won't even need to close the door to the crate. You get in bed and he will get in the crate. Generally speaking, dogs like to do what the pack is doing so if you are sleeping, your dog will want to sleep.
