Default WHAT SHOULD I BELEIVE??? betta and tetra help.?

Bettas and black skirt tetras.?
well first i gotta tell you their names.
Betta: Red
Smallest Tetra: Rex
Middle Tetra: Rhy
Biggest Tetra: Shamoo

okay no now that that's outta the way.... I just got 3 new tetras in my 10 gallon tank with Red. Red has not bothered the tetras, neither the tetras bother him. BUT I don't want to turn out the lights tonight and wake up with my new tetras dead. Also, the tetras haven't come up to eat the flakes. They will swim at the low levels of the tank and not come up for food. i put some flakes in but they were broken, i looked away and looked back; they were all gone. I know Red didn't eat them but the tetras were still minding their own business. I'm sure they didn't eat at the pet store, and now they haven't eaten here ): HELP

Red is so nice, he nibbles at flakes. he could be a vegetarian if he got hungry enough. he is the nicest betta ever (:

Give your new fish a chance to adjust, and betas fight each other and any fish that looks like them with long fins and such. I have never had any problems with a beta being in a community tank. With the exception of having male guppies with him...but he did NOT kill them.
He just nipped at them a little, but he didn't damage them. I found Angel fish to be quite mean to my beta, instead of him being mean to them. Oh, well, good luck with them.

Don't worry, as long as your tetras have a place to hide and get away from the beta, they should be fine. Besides, Red hasn't bothered any of your tetras yet. I'm pretty sure he won't unless they have enticing long fins that he may be tempted to pick at.

Fish in tanks need time to adjust. It can take up to a week for a fish to adjust enough to eat. They will not starve. Just try again tomorrow.

Generally, betas and tetras live together happily all the time, unless Red is extremely aggressive. Other than that, don't worry. Tomorrow, I almost guarantee you'll see all your fish happy and healthy.

well let me tell you this , you wont have to worry about finding them dead
because the betta will eat them! you might think hes a veg. now but as soon as he gets hungry , he is like a wild beast. Bettas shouldnt really be housed with any fish , but if you do it should be other bettas , i mean more then 1 female bettas can be together but the male isnt rly a good partner for anything , except for mating. my betta ate my tetras. i would keep a close watch on those lil guys. oh and your betta prob. is eating the food. they do it flakes but it could cause bloating and end up killing your poor friend. i have raised bettas for years. i have 4 females right now. but ya , tetra plus bigger betta = x( bye bye tetra , but that would be a good snack for ur betta , but a nasty one at that.
i would seperate them. and DONT feed him the flakes , flakes + betta = bloating , bloating + betta could = x( for him 2 , so its a loose loose sitch. for u with tetra and betta , sorry to tell you.

in my life i have had 3 bettas. 2 of them were boys and the other a girl. i also have tetras. every fish BUT the tetras try to eat the beta (even the girl ate the guy) and the tetras didnt bother the beta one bit. the kinda like split the tank in half but didnt hurt each other. i think u will be safe....... if the tetras do die its probally cuz they ate each other not the beta
